Fantasy managers are in a full-blown panic about Malik Nabers after two rough games, and honestly, who can blame them with Jaxson Dart out for the season with a knee injury? But hold up, let’s chill out for Week 4 against Arizona. Nabers is still a start ’em, folks.
Malik Nabers’ Rollercoaster Ride
We saw Nabers look pretty solid in Week 1 with Dart against Dallas, pulling in six catches for 69 yards on nine targets. That was fine. Then Week 2 at the Rams hit like a cold front, just one catch for a single yard on four targets. Dart got hurt in that one, and Nabers was battling a shoulder issue himself. Rough. Week 3, his first start with Jameis Winston against Tennessee, wasn’t much better: five catches for 26 yards on six targets, but the weather was straight-up nasty.
Now, we’re staring down the Cardinals, and this game has “track meet” written all over it. We could get the full Winston experience, you know, the one where he just absolutely peppers his No. 1 receiver with targets. That would be huge for Nabers. The Cardinals are ranked No. 4 in giving up the most Fantasy points to opposing receivers. And get this: Ladd McConkey, Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, and even our own Jaxon Smith-Njigba have *already* scored at least 12.4 PPR points against Arizona. Nabers should absolutely have a chance for a massive game here. Sure, the Giants’ offense could play it safe to try and limit Winston, and Nabers might not get the looks he needs. But I’m not hitting the panic button just yet. He’s still a starting Fantasy receiver for Week 4, and I’m hoping he crushes it against the Cardinals and makes everyone breathe easy.
Josh Downs and the Washington Workout
Over in Indianapolis, Josh Downs has been on fire. Alec Pierce went down with a heel injury early in Week 2 against Kansas City, and since then, Downs has been fantastic. He’s racked up 12 catches for 149 yards on 20 targets in the last two games against the Chiefs and Texans. He hit at least 12.7 PPR points in both outings, so you gotta consider him a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues for Week 4 against Washington in London.
Why? Because the Commanders are dead last, No. 1, in allowing the most Fantasy points to opposing receivers. Four guys, Dontayvion Wicks, CeeDee Lamb, Jaxon Smith-Njigba (again!), and our own Cooper Kupp, have already scored at least 14.6 PPR points against them this season. Keenan Allen also just dropped 18.3 PPR points in Week 3 against Houston and is worth a look as a sleeper. Both Indianapolis receivers should carve up that Washington secondary in Week 4.
So, while Malik Nabers tries to make everyone relax, keep an eye on Josh Downs doing work across the pond. Oh, and Michael Wilson had a standout game in Week 3 at San Francisco, too. Let’s see what these guys bring this week!
