Moise Kean is a major doubt for Italy’s Nations League clash against Turkiye. The dude wasn’t even training with the squad today, sidelined with another knock, and that’s a huge problem for the Azzurri. The match kicks off Monday at 19:45 UK time in Bologna at the Stadio Dall’Ara. Italy was hoping to build on their recent 4-1 victory in Bursa and that 1-1 draw against France, but losing Kean could really mess with their plans.
Kean’s Recurring Nightmare Strikes Again
This isn’t just a fresh knock out of nowhere. Kean started in Paris against France as part of a three-man attack alongside Sebastiano and Pio Esposito, but he was already battling an injury concern *before* that game. Now, according to Sky Sport Italia, he picked up *another* knock during the France match itself. He’s still not out there with his teammates, which tells you everything you need to know about how serious this is. It means he could easily be left out of the squad entirely for this final game before the international break wraps up, or at best, he’s looking at a spot on the bench. Talk about bad timing.
Who Steps Up For Italy’s Attack?
With Kean potentially sidelined, Italy’s attack is in a real bind. The Esposito brothers, Sebastiano and Pio, have started both of the last two matches. It’s looking likely that one or both of them might get some much-needed rest against Turkiye, who are currently sitting rock bottom in Nations League Group A. This opens the door for some fresh faces. Antonio Vergara made his debut in Paris and he’s definitely pushing hard for a chance to start. Then there’s Samuele Inacio, a talent who hasn’t even managed to snag a spot on the bench for the senior squad yet. Could this be his moment to finally get a look? The Azzurri need someone to step up big time, especially if Kean can’t go.
