After the Dallas Cowboys scraped out a 34-30 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday, a quick postgame chat between quarterbacks Dak Prescott and C.J. Stroud blew up this week, getting everyone talking about some serious irony. Prescott’s words to Stroud went totally viral, leaving fans wondering if there was some deeper meaning behind the advice he dished out to the young QB.
Dak Prescott Kept It Real After Stroud’s Rough Start
The Texans are in a rough spot, sitting at a brutal 0-4 record to start the year. Three of those four losses? By five points or less. Ouch. So, when Prescott caught up with Stroud after the game, he wasn’t pulling any punches, but he was definitely offering some encouragement. “Just shake it off,” Prescott told Stroud. “Go get some wins, bro. Get some wins going, brother.” It’s a classic message, but for a team staring down an 0-4 hole, those words hit different, right?
Talk About a Full-Circle Moment for C.J.
Can you even believe the turnaround here? Just two years ago, Stroud was the man, rocking the Offensive Rookie of the Year title in Caleb Williams’ first season. Back then, it was Stroud trying to play “big brother” to the 2024 No. 1 pick, offering up his own brand of postgame advice to the Chicago Bears quarterback. Now? It’s Stroud on the receiving end, needing that encouragement after his own team’s brutal start. That’s gotta sting a little, right? The very guy who was dishing out wisdom like candy is now the one needing the pep talk.
The Texans, still reeling from that disappointing start, are gonna try and shake off the 0-4 slump when they hit the field again in Week 5. Who’s on the schedule? The Tennessee Titans. And guess what? They’re also sitting at 0-4. This is gonna be a battle of the winless, and Stroud and the Texans gotta figure it out, ASAP.
