The NLCS is officially set to kick off this weekend, bringing a familiar showdown between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers, with a trip to the World Series hanging in the balance. Last year, the Dodgers straight-up swept the Brew Crew, but Milwaukee is clearly looking for a totally different outcome this season as they chase their first trip to the Fall Classic since way back in 1982.
This NLCS Isn’t the Same Old Story
Forget last year’s sweep. The talk on the Baseball Bar-B-Cast with Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman is all about why Milwaukee is actually in a better spot this season to make this series a real fight. They’re even saying the Dodgers might be in for a rude awakening this time around. That’s a bold claim, right? But hey, you gotta wonder if Shohei Ohtani is gonna find his groove this round, because if he doesn’t, that’s a huge shift. And apparently, Jacob Misiorowski is expected to be way more impactful, which could be a total game-changer for the Brewers. This isn’t just a rerun, folks. Milwaukee feels like they’ve got something to prove.
Pujols Wants to Manage, Plus ALDS Drama
Switching gears, the Baseball Bar-B-Cast also caught up with none other than future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols. Guess what? He’s got his sights set on becoming a major league manager. Can you imagine ‘The Machine’ in the dugout calling the shots? He also talked about how he knew Junior Caminero was going to be a star early on, which is just cool insight from a legend, and shared some stories about his time with Ohtani when Shohei first came into the league. Later in the show, Mintz and Shusterman also dove into the huge Game 5 happening between the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Guardians. That’s a winner-take-all situation to see who gets to move on and face the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALCS. Talk about high stakes!
So, we’ve got the NLCS kicking off this weekend with a massive rematch, and a do-or-die ALDS Game 5 coming up. You absolutely do not want to miss a second of this baseball drama.
