Get ready because tonight, the undefeated No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs are storming into Bryant,Denny Stadium to take on the equally undefeated No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide, and only one 5-0 record is leaving Tuscaloosa intact. This isn’t just another game, folks, this is a massive SEC rivalry that’s going to shake up the College Football Playoff picture big time.
Untested Dominance vs. A Rising Tide
The Bulldogs have been on an absolute tear this season, rolling through their first five games without a real test. These guys are ranked No. 2 for a reason, scoring at least 38 points in every single matchup while their legendary defense has held every opponent to 20 points or less. We all know Georgia’s defense is legit, but quarterback Gunnar Stockton looks super comfortable in his second season as a starter, and Nate Frazier is powering a strong running game with five rushing touchdowns already. They’ve looked untouchable, but how will they handle a team as hot as Alabama?
Keelon Russell Is The Real Deal For Alabama
Speaking of hot, Kalen DeBoer’s third season at Alabama has them looking like national championship contenders again, no joke. They’re also 5-0, matching Georgia’s perfect SEC record at 3-0. The big story here? Freshman quarterback Keelon Russell. This kid’s first season as a starter has been unreal, launching him right into the national conversation. Russell’s combined for a whopping 15 total touchdowns, both passing and rushing, proving he’s got that dangerous dual-threat ability that can pick apart any defense. And get this, despite the havoc Hurricane Isais caused overnight, the conditions for tonight’s game are going to be perfect. Former Alabama QB Bryce Young even stopped by College GameDay as the guest picker, so you know the energy is through the roof.
This game, kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET, is a pure slugfest. The winner takes a huge step towards a College Football Playoff berth, while the loser? Well, they’re going to feel that drop in their postseason fight. You can catch all the action on ABC, with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit on the call, or stream it live on Fubo, DIRECTV, or the ESPN app. You do not want to miss a single second of this one!
