Manchester City just dropped a massive 3-0 win on Liverpool at Anfield, and they did it right after being found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules. Talk about a statement, right? This wasn’t just any game; it was their first match since that bombshell verdict, and they absolutely cruised to victory.
Making a Statement at Anfield
The comfortable 3-0 scoreline against Liverpool, at their home turf of Anfield no less, tells you everything you need to know about City’s mindset. Even with the off-field drama hanging over them, the squad came out firing. Doku, who delighted in the match, was clearly a key player in making sure they secured that win against a 10-man Liverpool side. It was a performance that showed pure focus and execution, turning a potentially distracting week into a dominant display on the pitch.
Top of the Table, Clear by a Mile (Well, Three Points)
This win wasn’t just about sending a message; it had huge implications for the Premier League standings. City extended their perfect start to a mind-blowing six matches. That’s six straight wins to kick off their season! And because of this dominant performance, they’ve now moved three points clear at the very top of the Premier League table. They’re setting a pace that’s going to be tough for anyone else to match, and after this kind of week, it really just makes you wonder what else they can pull off.
