Get ready, WNBA fans, because the 2026 Finals are HERE, and it’s a clash nobody is going to want to miss! The Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries are the last two squads standing, duking it out for the whole damn thing in Game 1.
The Dream’s Unstoppable Roll Hits Its Toughest Test
The Atlanta Dream have been absolutely on fire, rolling into these Finals like an unstoppable force. We’re talking nine straight wins, folks, and they haven’t dropped a single postseason game. That’s a ridiculous run! They’ve got a killer trio leading the charge with Angel Reese, Rhyne Howard, and Jordin Canada just dominating on the court. And get this: Allisha Gray is making her comeback super soon after that hand injury she picked up against the New York Liberty in the semifinals. That’s a huge boost for a team already playing lights out!
The Valkyries Are Here To Shock The World
Standing in Atlanta’s way, though, are Gabby Williams and her Golden State Valkyries, and if you slept on this team, you weren’t alone. A lot of WNBA fans straight up dismissed them, figuring they were just a regular season squad that got lucky. Big mistake! These Valkyries have risen to every single challenge, taking down both the Dallas Wings and then pulling off a massive upset against the 2026 MVP A’ja Wilson and her Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals. What’s even crazier? Golden State is hosting Game 1, holding home-court advantage in their first-ever WNBA Finals appearance. Talk about a Cinderella story, right?
