The New York Knicks officially raised their 2026 NBA championship banner on Tuesday night, kicking off the new season with an epic celebration at Madison Square Garden. Before facing the Philadelphia 76ers, the team finally got their rings in front of a truly star-studded crowd that brought some serious buzz.
The Big Show: Rings, Banners, and Unbelievable Fan Power
This wasn’t just any ring ceremony, folks. The Knicks’ 2026 championship run was basically powered by their famous fans last season, with Ben Stiller and Timothee Chalamet practically courtside regulars alongside Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. So it was no surprise that ring night brought out a celebrity lineup unlike almost any other at MSG. You had the longtime legends like Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, Spike Lee, and Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order: SVU all there celebrating. Even NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell showed up, alongside Mark Shapiro, Mets owner Steve Cohen, and former presidential candidate Chris Christie. Talk about heavy hitters!
Music Royalty and Yankees Legends Get in on the Action
The music scene was well represented, too. Superfan Fat Joe was on hand, of course, but Jon Bon Jovi was also in attendance. And yeah, Harry Styles being there definitely made some waves. Other notable names spotted included Edie Falco, Steve Schirripa, John Turturro, Action Bronson, and Sam Morril. Even Karl-Anthony Towns’ wife Jordyn Woods was courtside for the game. Plus, a bunch of New York Yankees players like Cam Schlittler, Ben Rice, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. were chilling with the NBA champs. Jon Stewart and Mike Tomlin were also seen enjoying the ceremony.
The One Star Who Skipped the Party, and Why It Stings
With all those massive names, one absence somehow felt louder than all the cheering: Dune superstar Timothee Chalamet wasn’t at the ceremony. No public reason was given, which is kind of a bummer given how much he was a part of their playoff ride. Still, you gotta say, the stars shining at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night were just as bright as those championship rings. What a night for the Knicks and their incredible fanbase!
