The 2026 World Series is officially locked in, and get this: it’s the Milwaukee Brewers going head-to-head with the Tampa Bay Rays. While it stings to see some other teams out of the picture, this matchup is actually a blast. We’ve got a clash of two teams that shared the best records from their respective leagues this season.
This Ain’t Your Regular Season Small Ball
Both these clubs played a very specific brand of baseball this year, especially when it counted. Forget fancy small ball. These teams powered their way through the postseason by just flat-out outhomering their opponents. What’s wild is that both the Brewers and the Rays were actually in the bottom six for ISO during the regular season. Think about that for a second. They found a way to make the ball absolutely fly when it truly mattered most in October. I love watching teams just figure it out and win, you know? It doesn’t matter if your stats look a little rough on paper if you can drop the big hits when it’s crunch time. These two clubs proved they can punish pitchers. The real question now is if that power holds up when they go head-to-head.
Recent History Favors Milwaukee’s Big Bats
We’ve actually seen these two square off pretty recently. In their second series of the year, the Rays managed to snag a tight 3-2 win in Milwaukee. But don’t let that fool you. The Brewers completely took control of the very next two games. Per Battery Power, Milwaukee absolutely hammered the Rays, outscoring them 14-4 during that stretch. The Brewers know how to punish mistakes. If the Rays can’t figure out a way to stop those Milwaukee bats, this World Series could be over quicker than you can say “dinger.” Get ready, because the ultimate power showdown is about to begin.
