Iowa’s Halloween showdown against Wisconsin is officially locked in for an 11 a.m. CT kickoff on FOX at a sold-out Kinnick Stadium on October 31. This isn’t just any game, either, because the Hawkeyes have absolutely owned the Badgers lately, outscoring them a combined 79-10 over their last two matchups. Yeah, you read that right, 79-10. This one’s gonna be wild.
Hawkeyes Rolling Into October with Playoff Dreams
Coming off a bye week, Iowa is absolutely humming right now, rocking a 5-1 record with their only stumble coming against national contender Ohio State. They aren’t just beating up on nobodies, either. The Hawkeyes have pulled off power conference wins against Iowa State, and snagged big road victories over both Michigan and Washington. With six regular season games left on the schedule, Iowa’s path to the College Football Playoff isn’t just a pipe dream, it’s a realistic shot. They’ve got to keep that momentum going, though.
Wisconsin Looking to Break the Streak
The Badgers are sitting at 4-2 this season, with their Big Ten wins coming against Penn State and Michigan State. Their two losses were to Notre Dame and UCLA, so they’ve definitely faced some tough competition. But here’s the thing: they have to go to Iowa City, and history isn’t on their side. Iowa has won the last four matchups against Wisconsin, and like we said, the last two were absolute blowouts. The Badgers host USC on October 24th before making that trip to Kinnick. You know they’re desperate to flip the script, especially after those last two beatdowns.
This week, Iowa hits the road to play Minnesota before they get ready for that Halloween blockbuster. Wisconsin, meanwhile, hosts USC before making the trek to Iowa City. The stakes are huge for both teams, but especially for Iowa as they chase that playoff spot and look to extend their dominance over their rivals. You really don’t want to miss this one.
