The Los Angeles Rams are about to feel the sting of a dumb mistake, big time. Their left tackle, Alaric Jackson, is reportedly staring down a two-game suspension from the league.
The Blow-Up After the Buzzer
Dude, you gotta keep your cool, right? Especially after a brutal loss. But apparently, Jackson didn’t get that memo. ESPN’s Adam Schefter dropped the news Tuesday: Jackson is expected to be sidelined for a couple of games after he decided to throw a punch at Buffalo Bills pass-rusher Bradley Chubb. This all went down right after Monday night’s game, a wild 37-34 victory for Buffalo. Players were still out on the field, gathering up, when things got heated. Jackson let fly with a punch, and it took Chubb’s own teammates to hold him back. Even Josh Allen looked surprised during his postgame chat, which tells you everything about how out-of-pocket that whole situation was.
What It Means for the Rams
So, now the Rams are in a tough spot. Losing your left tackle for two full games, especially this early in the season, is a massive hit. You need those guys protecting the QB, keeping the pocket clean. With Jackson out, they’re going to have to shuffle things around big time, and that’s never ideal. It’s a self-inflicted wound, plain and simple.
The Rams will be without Jackson for those upcoming games, and you know that’s going to mess with their offensive line rhythm. What a way to start the week, huh?
