Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark just dropped a bomb on social media, promising a perfect 10-0 record on her College GameDay picks for Saturday. This isn’t just a casual guess either; she put it out there before Iowa’s afternoon game against visiting Ohio State, making it clear she’s confident in her selections.
Clark’s Picks and the Bold Calls That Have Everyone Talking
Seriously, she went all in. Will Kennedy of the Des Moines Register summarized Clark’s full slate of picks, and there are some absolute stunners in there. She’s got Iowa State over West Virginia, UMass over Eastern Michigan, BYU over TCU, Arizona over Cincinnati, and Miami over Clemson. That Miami pick wasn’t just her; she was part of a unanimous vote predicting No. 4 Miami will beat Clemson. She also picked USC to defeat Washington, Michigan over Minnesota, and Florida to beat Missouri.
But the two that really jump off the page? Clark joined Desmond Howard as one of only two of the five pickers to choose Mississippi State over Alabama. Talk about a gutsy call! And of course, she stayed loyal to her roots, picking her alma mater, Iowa, to take down Ohio State. You gotta love that fire when it comes to backing your own team.
Why Clark Was on GameDay and What It Means
Clark’s appearance as a celebrity guest picker makes her the fourth women’s basketball star to take on the role, a huge deal for the sport. ESPN’s Bill Hofheimer noted she joins an elite club alongside Sabrina Ionescu, Dawn Staley, and Candace Parker. Her availability to join the GameDay crew came after the Fever were eliminated from the first round of the WNBA playoffs. They lost Game 3 to the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday, which definitely freed up her Saturday afternoon.
So, will she actually hit that 10-0? We’re all gonna find out together. This kind of confidence is what makes Clark appointment viewing, whether she’s on the court or picking college games. Can’t wait to see if she makes good on that promise!
