A trio of leading English clubs, Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Newcastle United, have officially made their interest known in Barcelona’s defensive star, Eric García. This comes as the 25-year-old’s incredible form is getting noticed big time across the continent.
The Stopper Who’s Shutting Down Europe
You wanna talk about a rock? Eric García has absolutely cemented his spot as one of the first names on the team sheet at Spotify Camp Nou. The dude is consistently reliable, whether he’s pushing forward or locking things down at the back. Seriously, he’s playing so well, he’s even leaped over the more high-profile Jules Koundé in the right-back pecking order for Hansi Flick’s squad. This isn’t just some flash in the pan either, as a World Cup winner, he’s got the pedigree to back it up. So far this season, Eric has started in eight of Barcelona’s ten matches across all competitions. He’s been absolutely pivotal in their flawless record, which, let’s be real, is just insane.
Everyone Wants a Piece, But Barça’s Not Selling
It’s no surprise that when a player is performing at this level, the big boys come sniffing. Beyond the Premier League trio, long-term admirers Paris Saint-Germain are also in the hunt for García’s services. According to a report from Fichajes, citing transfer journalist Ekrem Konur, these clubs are all making their moves. But here’s the kicker, Barcelona has made it crystal clear they have almost zero intention of even listening to bids for their defensive stalwart. When you’ve got a guy performing like this, especially when he’s key to a flawless record, you don’t just let him walk. It’s a testament to how crucial Eric has become for the club, and honestly, good on them for holding firm. You don’t let a player like that go.
The message from Barcelona is loud and clear: Eric García is staying right where he is. With him anchoring their defense, and with a perfect record on the line, Barcelona is definitely a team to watch as the season unfolds. It looks like opposing clubs will have to keep dreaming about landing this star.
