LeBron James is officially in Philadelphia, man. He just debuted with the 76ers this week, and let me tell you, he’s already bringing all the drama and viral moments everyone was hoping for. The 76ers didn’t just win their season opener, either; they pulled off a massive 106-100 victory over the reigning champion New York Knicks on Tuesday. Talk about kicking things off with a bang!
That Win Was Sweet, But the Chemistry? Even Sweeter
That 106-100 win against the defending champs, the Knicks, on Tuesday? Pure fire. But honestly, what’s even sweeter for Philly fans is seeing the bond already forming between LeBron and their other superstar, Joel Embiid. James has only been playing for a few days, but the connection is clear. It’s not just about the stats, it’s about that instant vibe, that feeling that something special is brewing.
The Viral Handshake That Broke the Internet
This week, the new power couple dropped a handshake that’s got everyone talking. It blew up big on Thursday, right before the 76ers’ home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This ain’t your grandma’s handshake either: it’s slaps, it’s a wiggle dance, it’s wild, and you really gotta see it to believe it. ESPN’s NBA account on X, yeah, formerly Twitter, threw it up on Thursday, and boom! Over 600,000 views in just a few hours. That’s the power of putting LeBron with a force like Embiid. Fans are absolutely losing it, calling it “City of brotherly love” and saying it “has more moves than most playoff offenses.” One fan even said, “Bron got a new handshake for every teammate. The chemistry is hilarious, and Embiid is matching the energy.” That tells you everything you need to know about the vibes these two are bringing.
LeBron’s Already Playing Referee
But it’s not all fun and games. LeBron’s already stirring the pot, accusing NBA refs of giving the Knicks a “championship whistle” in that season opener. You know Bron, he’s never shy about speaking his mind, and he’s not wasting any time bringing that fiery energy to Philly. It’s a statement, plain and simple.
This is only the beginning. With the 76ers starting strong, a dynamic duo forming instantly, and LeBron already putting refs on blast, this season is gonna be a wild ride for Philly. Can’t wait to see what these two cook up next.
