The Minnesota Vikings are 4-0. Seriously. They’re undefeated right now. But here’s the kicker, the one that’ll make your jaw drop: they’ve pulled off this perfect start without scoring a single touchdown in multiple games! What in the Emerald City is going on?
History Made, Kinda
This isn’t just weird, it’s straight-up historic. We’re talking about the third team EVER to start the season 4-0 despite failing to punch it in for a touchdown in multiple contests. The only other squads to pull off this absolute head-scratcher were the 1922 Chicago Cardinals and the 1923 Chicago Cardinals. Yeah, almost a century ago! It’s wild. They’re living by that old “Just win, baby” slogan, no matter how it looks. On Sunday against the Dolphins, they snagged the W with a quintet of field goals. Two weeks before that, they beat Chicago with only three field goals. Think about that for a second. Three. Field. Goals.
Offensive Woes, Believe It Or Not
Despite being undefeated, their offense just keeps on underperforming. It’s a fact. You’d think a 4-0 team would be lighting it up, right? But the numbers tell a different story. The good news? They finally broke through a bit against Miami, putting up a season-high 336 yards. Before that, they hadn’t even cracked 250 yards in any of their first three games. What gives? There was even a moment where tight end T.J. Hockenson could’ve scored, but he took a knee at the Miami two-yard line instead. It allowed them to seal the victory with three snaps in victory formation. No touchdown, but another win. It’s like they’re allergic to the end zone but masters of the scoreboard.
So, the question is, how long can they keep this up? Can they really make a run without their offense finding the end zone consistently? Every game is going to be a must-watch to see if this historically weird winning streak can continue, or if their offensive struggles finally catch up to them.
