The American League Division Series is already wild, with both the Tampa Bay Rays and the Chicago White Sox holding commanding 2-0 leads in their best-of-five series. It’s October 5, 2026, and these teams are just one win away from moving on.
Two Teams On The Brink Of Elimination
The New York Yankees are facing a massive uphill battle, down 2-0 to the Rays after Tampa Bay took Game Two. Tonight, the Yankees’ Max Fried, a left-hander, will try to keep their season alive against the Rays’ right-handed Nick Martinez. First pitch for that do-or-die Game 3 is at 8:00 PM EDT on TBS/HBO MAX.
Over in the other ALDS, the Cleveland Guardians are also staring down a 2-0 deficit against the Chicago White Sox. White Sox left-hander Sean Newcomb takes the mound against the Guardians’ right-hander Daniel Espino for Game 3, which kicks off at 4:00 PM EDT on TBS/HBO MAX. This could be it for two teams if they cannot turn things around.
National League Teams Look To Maintain Momentum
In the National League Division Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers are up 2-1 on the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers send right-hander Tyler Glasnow to the bump for Game 4, while the Braves counter with right-hander Tyler Mahle. That game gets going at 6:00 PM EDT, broadcast on FS1/FOX ONE.
Later, the Milwaukee Brewers are also holding a 2-1 advantage over the San Diego Padres. Brewers left-hander Robert Gasser is slated to pitch against Padres right-hander Walker Buehler in Game 4. You can catch that one at 10:00 PM EDT on FS1/FOX ONE. Both these series are pivotal, with the losing team facing a true must-win scenario in their next game.
With elimination games and series leads on the line, tonight’s MLB Division Series action is absolutely crucial. Every pitch matters as teams fight to advance or simply survive.
