Robert Henry is officially inactive for tonight’s primetime clash against the Denver Broncos, a move that’s got every 12 scratching their head. This comes even with our running back room struggling big time recently, especially with ball security and generating those explosive plays we desperately need. It’s a baffling call as we roll into Denver.
The Unsettling RB Situation and a Tough Road Ahead
Coming off that frustrating Week 5 loss at Lumen Field to the NFC West leading San Francisco 49ers, you’d think we’d want every available weapon. But nope, Henry is sidelined. Other guys at the position have been fumbling and just not breaking free, which makes this decision even tougher to swallow. We need to see someone step up and provide a spark. Tonight’s game is huge, a chance to bounce back after that disappointing home defeat, and the offense needs to find its rhythm without a key depth piece.
Defense Battling Injuries as We Face History
It’s not just the offense with question marks. Our defense is still trying to get on the same page, with a big chunk of the secondary working its way back from injuries. Plus, we’re without starting linebacker Drake Thomas tonight. Talk about a challenge! The full inactive list also includes QB Jalen Milroe, who’s serving as the emergency third quarterback, WR Montorie Foster, NT Brandon Pili, LB Chazz Surratt, and CB Avery Smith. That’s a lot of talent on the sideline.
On the bright side, the Broncos won’t have the advantage of scorching high temperatures in Denver this time around. We’ve actually had their number recently, beating them twice in the past few seasons, including that 2024 Week 1 win in Bo Nix’s first career start, and the 2022 season opener when Russell Wilson first suited up in a Denver uniform. But tonight marks our first time playing in Denver since that infamous “altitudegate” 2018 season opener, where they edged us out 27-24. We owe them one for that, right?
Tonight isn’t just another game. It’s a primetime statement. We need to see who steps up, especially with Henry sidelined and key defensive players out. Let’s get this win, Seattle! We’re looking to turn the page and bring that fight to the Mile High City. Go Hawks!
