First place in the NFC West is on the line this Sunday, as your defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks get ready to battle the undefeated San Francisco 49ers in Week 5 at Lumen Field. This isn’t merely another game; a win would put the Hawks squarely at the top of the division going into Week 6. Get ready, 12s, because this one is absolutely massive!
The Undefeated Niners Are Coming To Town
Man, the Niners are red hot. They’re sitting pretty at undefeated through four games, and they’ve already taken down the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams in the division. If they snag a win against our Hawks, they’d be 3-0 in divisional matchups with half their schedule behind them. These guys mean business, and they’re definitely gunning to solidify their hold on first place in the NFC West.
The Schedule Just Got Real for Our Hawks
Our Hawks, meanwhile, have had a relatively “easier” start to the 2026 season. The four teams we’ve played so far have a combined record of 4-12. But that easy ride is GONE, that’s for sure. We’re officially entering the brutal part of our schedule. After the undefeated 49ers, we’re staring down the barrel of the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Bears. Those four teams? A combined 13-3 record. This is where we see what our defending Super Bowl champs are really made of.
This Week 5 showdown is absolutely critical. It’s Friday afternoon, so if you’ve got 11 minutes, or just five at double speed, you gotta check out the preview John Gilbert did with Trevor Maeder of KMA Sports. Seriously, it’s a quick listen that breaks down everything you need to know before Sunday’s huge game. Get hyped, Seattle, because this is going to be a fight for first place!
