Yaxel Lendeborg is apparently getting the nod to start in the regular season opener, and honestly, the hype for this rookie is already through the roof. Coach Steve Kerr isn’t out here giving full-on guarantees yet, but when asked about Lendeborg stepping into the first five for the October 21st game, he dropped, “It’s looking that way for sure.” You don’t get much clearer than that from a coach.
The Rookie Is Rolling
Let’s be real, when a coach like Kerr says “it’s looking that way,” especially about a rookie, that’s pretty much a done deal without actually saying “he’s starting.” All the signs are pointing to Lendeborg being front and center for the opener. This isn’t just a minor role, this is the regular season opener, the first taste of what’s to come, and our guy is right there in the mix.
October 21st: Time to Shine?
Joseph Dycus from HoopsHype caught Kerr’s not-quite-a-guarantee, but it’s enough to get everyone hyped. The regular season opener on October 21st just got a whole lot more interesting, didn’t it? Keep your eyes peeled for Lendeborg’s name in that starting lineup. This rookie’s about to show everyone what he’s made of from day one.
