The Cincinnati Bengals are facing the 0-4 Miami Dolphins in Week 5, and with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins already banged up, their running game is about to become the star of the show. Seriously, if you’re a Bengals fan, you might want to strap in, because Chase Brown and Samaje Perine could be absolutely set for a massive game.
Walder’s Bold Call on the Inside Zone
It’s not just because the Dolphins are 0-4, which, let’s be real, helps. No, there’s a specific, juicy reason why Week 5 could be huge for Brown. ESPN’s Seth Walder dropped a bold prediction: the Bengals’ running game is going to explode. The secret sauce? Cincinnati loves running inside zone plays, and the Dolphins are one of the absolute worst teams in the league at stopping them this season.
Walder isn’t just throwing darts, either. He’s predicting the Bengals will average at least 5.0 yards per inside zone run. Why is he so confident? The Bengals run inside zone 33% of the time, which is the second most in the entire NFL. And get this: the Dolphins have allowed 4.6 yards per inside zone run, also the second most in the league. Those two stats together? They make this bold prediction sound incredibly realistic for the Bengals’ ground attack this week.
Brown’s Moment to Shine
Look, it would be a total shocker if the Bengals’ offense couldn’t run the ball well in this matchup. Brown has flashed serious potential and has the ability to run at a very high clip when the situation is right. For Brown and the Bengals, it honestly might not get any easier than this all season long. This is about as good of a matchup as they’ll ever see.
All the signs are pointing toward the Bengals, with Brown leading the charge, dominating the Dolphins’ weak defense in Week 5. With Chase and Higgins coming into the game nursing some bumps and bruises, Bengals fans should expect to see a heavy dosage of Brown out of the backfield on Sunday. All eyes are gonna be on Brown and the Bengals’ ground game this Sunday. This is Brown’s chance to step up and absolutely feast on an 0-4 Dolphins squad. You know Bengals fans are gonna be fired up to see what he does!
