Week 4 of the NFL season is here, and man, some teams are already staring down the barrel. None more so than the Patriots, who are looking at being 3.5 games out of first place in the AFC East if they take another L. They are playing absolutely desperate right now, and grabbing those 6.5 points feels like a no-brainer for a bounce-back.
Early Season Pressure Cooker
Seriously, this season is already wild. We’ve got the Commanders and their opponent, both of whom started 0-2 before pulling out a win in Week 3. The winner of that matchup gets to .500, which is huge this early. I’m riding with the Commanders and taking that 3.5 point spread, it’s gonna be tight. Then there’s the Titans. Dude, if they aren’t the worst team in the NFL, they’re pretty darn close. They’re sitting at 0-3, and their offense has been absolutely anemic. I just don’t see it getting better this week in Baltimore. Over in the AFC, the Steelers are pushing the ball downfield way more than they did last year, just like coach Mike McCarthy said he wanted. Aaron Rodgers has an average depth of target over 10 yards in two of three games, including a 30-27 win last week. With their matchup against the Browns and their sneaky good offense, going over the 38.5 total just makes sense. Oh, and set your alarms, because we’re getting our first 9:30 am ET kickoff of the season in London on Sunday, that’s gonna be a fun one to wake up to.
Contenders and Underperformers
Some of these matchups are just plain fascinating. You’ve got Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow, both picked first overall in back-to-back years (2020 and 2021), squaring off. They even played against each other in the 2019 college national title game, remember that? The Jaguars look like real contenders this year, honestly, they could easily be 3-0 right now. In what looks like a toss-up, I’m taking the points with them. The Rams could officially hit panic mode if they drop another game and fall to 1-3. The Eagles have owned them, winning all four meetings since the start of the 2023 season, and heading to Philly is never an easy trip, especially with the brutal travel the Rams have already endured this season. The Giants are 2-1, but their offense has been suspect ever since quarterback Jaxson Dart went down with that season-ending knee injury. With the total at 44.5, I’m feeling a 23-20 type game, so I’m going Under. And then there’s the Cowboys. Their defense was supposed to be way better in 2026 after being dreadful last year, but we just haven’t seen it yet. With their elite offense and shaky D, they’re an “Over” team until proven otherwise. Finally, the Jets lost and didn’t cover last week, but Geno Smith played really well and they were tied with just a few minutes left against the Lions. I think they keep it close against the Bears this week. And heads up, undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels is making his first career start for the Buccaneers this week. Two desperate teams facing off, both needing a W.
This Week 4 slate is gonna be HUGE, shaping what we’ll see as the season pushes forward. Get ready!
