Millard South just crushed Millard West 59-0 on Friday, October 2, absolutely owning Week 7 of the 2026 high school season to push their record to a perfect 6-0. The Patriots’ QB-WR duo, Trae Taylor and Tay Ellis, put on a show for the ages in that blowout win, but one half of that dynamic pairing just dropped a bombshell that has everyone talking.
Taylor Bleeds Opponents Dry With Record-Setting Play
Trae Taylor, the No. 10 prospect in the entire 2027 recruiting cycle according to the 2027 USA TODAY Sports Recruiting Composite Rankings, was straight up unstoppable. The dude, who’s been a Nebraska football commit since May 1, 2025, torched Millard West for 345 passing yards and FIVE touchdowns through the air! And just to rub it in, he ran in for another score himself. He’s been on a tear all season, coming into Friday’s game with 1,471 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and only two interceptions. On the ground, he’s just as dangerous, racking up 84 rushes for 473 yards and eight more touchdowns. This guy is a certified problem for defenses.
Ellis Shines Bright While Making a Shocking Exit
Taylor’s go-to guy, Tay Ellis, was an absolute nightmare for the Millard West secondary. Ellis, who actually committed to Nebraska himself on November 3, 2025, and even made the move from North Crowley High School in Texas just to be closer to Taylor and his future college, hauled in four catches for 129 yards and three scores. That 46-yard reception for his second touchdown of the game? Pure electricity. Millard South was already up 28-0 at the end of the first quarter, so you know they were feeling it. But here’s the kicker: Ellis decommitted from the Cornhuskers on September 2. Yeah, you read that right. He decommitted from the program he moved to be closer to, just over a month before this monster game.
Millard South is sitting pretty at 6-0, looking like a real force. With Trae Taylor putting up insane numbers and Tay Ellis showing out, it’s clear this duo is special. But what does Ellis’s decommitment mean for his future, and what’s next for this dynamic receiver after such a bold move? Everyone’s watching to see where he lands.
