The Titans are absolutely owning the field in Nashville right now, jumping out to an early 14-0 lead thanks to a dominant run game from Tony Pollard and a crucial turnover from the Browns. It’s all Tennessee so far, and Cleveland looks like they are struggling to find answers.
Pollard Sets the Tone Immediately
Tony Pollard wasted no time making his presence felt, capping the Titans’ opening possession with a 36-yard touchdown run. Can you believe it? That was Tennessee’s first opening-drive touchdown of the entire season. Talk about starting with a bang! Pollard was running all over Cleveland’s defense from the jump, and the momentum was clearly with the Titans.
Watson’s Pick Opens the Floodgates
Just when Cleveland needed to respond, Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson threw an interception on only his second pass attempt of the day. You just can’t make those kinds of mistakes against a hot team. That turnover handed the Titans a golden opportunity, setting them up at Cleveland’s 24-yard line. It took only four plays for Pollard to find the end zone again with a 10-yard touchdown run, cementing that early 14-0 lead.
History Repeats for Browns Defense
Pollard is already having himself a day. He’s stacked up a season-high 77 yards rushing on just eight carries. This guy is on a mission! And get this, the last time Pollard played the Browns, back in December, he absolutely torched them for a career-high 161 yards. It feels like Cleveland just can’t figure out how to stop him, and it’s happening all over again right before our eyes.
This is just the start, folks. The Titans are bringing the heat, Pollard is on fire, and Cleveland needs to figure out a response fast if they want to get back in this one. Can they stop this guy? We’re about to find out.
