Man, talk about a rough week for the Arizona Cardinals. First off, their starting right guard Isaiah Adams got dropped onto injured reserve this past Saturday, October 10th, with an ankle injury. And get this, he’s not even the first starting offensive lineman they’ve lost. This whole situation is spiraling fast.
O-Line Nightmare: Another Starter Down
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur had already ruled Adams out for this week way back on October 7th. That wasn’t even the half of it, though. Just two days before that, on October 5th, LaFleur announced that their starting left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. is out for the rest of the freakin’ season! Adams, who was a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, is gonna miss at least a month. Losing both your starting right guard and your starting left tackle in a week? That’s just brutal. How are you supposed to protect anyone with that kind of hit to the front line?
Marvin Harrison Jr. Is GONE, Too?!
But wait, there’s more! The Cardinals also drafted wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. with the No. 4 overall pick in that same 2024 NFL Draft, and now he’s making headlines for all the wrong reasons. ESPN NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport have reported that Harrison won’t even be playing in the Cardinals’ next game. Why? Because the team is apparently finalizing a trade to move him. A No. 4 overall pick from last year, already on the way out? That’s a wild move, and it tells you everything about the state of things down in Arizona.
This is a gut punch week for the Cardinals. Two starting offensive linemen sidelined, one for the season, and now their star rookie receiver from last year is reportedly being traded. It’s a tough break for their squad.
