William Contreras absolutely crushed a solo home run Tuesday, cutting into the San Diego Padres’ lead in the fourth inning of NLDS Game 3. This wasn’t just any home run, it was the kind that makes you wonder if the Padres are going to see it in their nightmares.
Contreras Responds Big in Game 3
That blast at Petco Park was huge for the Milwaukee Brewers. The Padres had just put up a pair of runs in the bottom of the third, grabbing a 2-0 lead before Contreras stepped up. His solo shot brought the score to 2-1, keeping the Brewers in the fight as action headed into the bottom of the fourth with the Padres still ahead. The dude didn’t just hit the ball, he sent a message.
The Celebration That Has the Padres on Edge
Contreras wasn’t shy about it, either. He took his sweet time trotting around those bases, even stopping for a brief moment to soak it all in before crossing home plate. And why not? This wasn’t his first rodeo against the Padres this series. He already launched a go-ahead solo homer in Game 1 on October 3, blasting it to center field in the bottom of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie. The man knows how to hit a crucial ball, and he’s not afraid to let you know about it.
With Contreras firing on all cylinders, the Brewers are clearly not going down without a fight in this NLDS. You gotta wonder if the Padres are getting sick of seeing him round the bases.
