Florida football is back from a bye week, ready to hit the field against rival Georgia, but this time the action is going down in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This isn’t just another game, especially with both squads coming off their own unique “week off” experiences.
Florida Is Rolling After a Huge Upset
Two weeks ago, No. 20 Florida (5-2, 2-2 SEC) pulled off a road upset against Texas, winning 27-24. Backup quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. absolutely stepped up in that one, tossing for 155 yards and two touchdowns. But let’s be real, the Gators are also powered by running back Jadan Baugh, who is having an insane season with 763 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns already. On defense, Myles Graham is an absolute force, leading the charge with 48 tackles and 3.5 sacks. This team is ready.
No. 3 Georgia Is Reeling From an Overtime Loss
Meanwhile, No. 3 Georgia (6-1, 4-1) also had a week off to think about things, and man, they had a lot to think about. Before their bye, the Bulldogs suffered a brutal 27-24 overtime upset loss to Auburn. That had to sting. Veteran quarterback Gunner Stockton needs to rally this team. He has put up 16 touchdowns, 1,570 yards, and completed 74% of his passes this season, but he has also thrown four interceptions. Can he shake off that last loss?
